As you may or may not have heard, the newly born quantum punks movement hosted an event in Bangkok this year, which we sponsored and helped organize. The event was held just before Devcon VII, and despite not being openly publicised, saw very good attendance, being more than three times oversubscribed. All the talks given at the event have been recorded, and are finally available!
The Future is Quantum
Speaker: Fabrizio Romano Genovese (NeverLocal)
In this talk, Fabrizio gives an introduction to the ‘quantum punk’ thesis, shifting the frame on the quantum conversation from ‘defense’ to ‘attack’. In particular, Fabrizio showcases a vision for how the cryptocurrency ecosystem could look like in a future where a lot of the quantum cryptographic primitives NeverLocal is researching on are practically realized.
Contextual Cryptography
Speaker: Stefano Gogioso (NeverLocal)
In this talk, Stefano gives a brief introduction to the way in which contextual resources can be used to build quantum-powered cryptographic primitives with security properties unachievable by classical technology. This line research – namely leveraging contextuality to construct secure cryptographic protocols – is at the very core of NeverLocal mission.
Tales from the Trenches
Speaker: Marc Kaplan (VeriQloud)
In this talk, Mark gives an insider’s perspective on the quantum cryptography industry, drawn from seven years of hands-on experience building VeriQloud. He highlights key challenges and opportunities in the industry, discusses what should change, and offers insights for budding builders looking to get started building on top of quantum tech.
Quantum Crypto Tomorrow
Speaker: Nicola Greco (DeepQuantum)
In this talk, Nicola speculates about what tomorrow might look like for the quantum cryptography space, and what we can do to make that future a reality.
